Sweeney Todd: a horrible fairytale

I was fortunate to attend a preview screening in the last film mister Tim Burton (Big Fish for example). I thought I knew what to expect going to see Sweeney Todd The Demon Barber of Fleet Street was surprised by my size gradually discovering this musical style particularly well. If the cast is excellent (Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter), the mixture of styles we offer Tim Burton is amazing: halfway between a fairy tale, a horror film and a musical. It is indeed a muscial comedy since the dialogue is all sung, note also that the soundtrack is a little jewel.

I must admit that out of the room was rather mixed part of the unexpected violence of certain scenes with a bit of fall I became aware of the exercise style of Tim Burton. I'll probably go to the movies to appreciate another look.

    I am super fan of Tim Burton ... I see the course as possible ...
    You say that the soundtrack is a small jewelry ... what is it that Danny Elfman has done? (bump it all the time with Tim Burton) ... if so I'll run bin purchase ... I am in awe of the composer ...

    I saw the adaptation with Ray Winstone and I have a little trouble imagining the transposition into a musical.
    Anyway, the buzz and promotion are so enormous that it can be done by.
    Then good, anything Tim Burton :)

    I also went to see the first before (Friday) and I even took places yesterday thinking it would be madness ... although not at all, they generally expect that the room is full before running the film and is not at all, they have launched an hour.
    the play of color is absolutely extra (like most of his films), even more morbid than the mix of sleepy hollow and wedding parlor but with some touches of color style Edward Scissorhands.
    the songs are geniaux despite a mediocre translation.
    the casting was a bit surprising, Depp and Bonham Carter (as usual we could say) and as Severus Snape and Peter Pettigrew in Harry Potter, dc a Tim Burton with three players in harry potter and three others that I had never seen (perhaps true of singers)
    well I'll stop talking about (for those who have not yet seen) but be warned it is very special, for those who work and spirit of Tim Burton are unknown will not understand and have little chance to love. people in my room are left after 10 minutes of film ... but personally I have spent a single moment and I plan to return to see him several times!
    PS this is not Danny Elfman (big disappointment) but the music is still genial
    pay attention to small literary winks and small references to his other films.

    thank you for this review! I am an unconditional winning duo of Tim Burton / Johnny Deep, so I would probably see this movie, which makes me a bit like Edward Scissorhands, at first sight.

    Damage cons that music is not Danny Elfman. The Soundtrack Corpse Bride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, etc., and Burton's films in general are always brilliant!

    Sure, it's really a good movie, great Tim Burton! I loved, especially the duo dpp / Bohnam Carter, but I do not regret not having brought my little cousin, who has just having 12 years, and who wanted to come because he "was under age.

    The soundtrack is beautiful, well contrasted images, but some scenes are still very gory. (A girl in the film was hiding his eyes every "rtanchage throat," she not see much ...)

    It is simply awesome this is really a great movie!! Too bad the soundtrack is not Danny Elfman, but it's still great fun (and Johnny Depp sings well ^ ^) Well obviously as a fan of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp (my idol ^ ^) the death of Sweeney Todd really touched me (although I expected : cry: it is never pleasant) Sale Gosse! : evil: ^ ^ In short, the interplay of colors is really cool that is where we recognize the style of Tim Burton, a fabulous mix of Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow and Corpse Bride atmosphere! After it is of course the bloody touch : twisted: I loved the fact that blood flows differently in different characters (Lucy Sweeney and different from others was pretty cool). This film is really original and unique : cool: A must see! Very good! Johnny Depp & Tim Burton duo shock!

    I'm late I know ...
    But I just see it.

    Quite surprised.
    I am an unconditional fan of Tim Burton, and I do not know why I have not quite caught on this one.
    It probably just because I do not understand all the songs in English. :???:

    I have a lot more fun with Big Fish for example, the imaginary world sweet and cool touch me to believe it. (Unlike the Gorrissime Sweedey ^ ^)
