My name is not for sale

The auction has already exceeded the € 1500 despite skepticism and misunderstanding.

ebay romain libeau

I want to make some clarification on this sale for less original. It is by no means to sell my name but the blog content. I think the 645 items are written a certain amount (as determined by the auction). I would remain owner of the domain name (it seems obvious), my name n'apparaitera more in the logo. As far as I'm not writing articles about my private life, this would not pose problems. I arranged with the buyer that this transition is done intelligently (to do so).

The word "blog influence in the ad title is just a wink, and then it's more vendor is not it? For those who comment on the stats Alexaa plummeting, I want to clarify that they are related to the case of category Streaming. The stats displayed in the advertisement is constant and guaranteed to the extent that the majority of traffic comes from search engines.

I give a rough estimate of the money that this blog can generate, it does not mean that is what I earn now. A trip you will see that there are fewer commercials than before.

I leave comments open, it makes me so happy your messages of encouragement

  • My letter was published, I have provided these details but, like Gonzaga, I'm very skeptical about this sale. Without the domain name, the product is not worth much and, finally, you can sell that wind. Finally, there are over 600 items, we agree, but it is not very visible ....

Finally I know, I have trouble understanding what you seek. Making money? Swinging a big stir?

I quite agree with the majority of the traffic, sell well, because it may have some value, but long term ... it's hard without referencing the name and domain?

Worse I see no reason why the RSS subscribers would remain ...

Somewhat puzzled me too, but nice publicity stunt for you

  • Without the domain name, the "blog" is worthless in any case, it is not worth 2,000 euros (at 20h), for sure!
But you contradict much. That is what we read on ebay: "redirection appropriate (not to interfere with the SEO) will be made to your domain name." I understand that I will be redirected to romainlibeau.com numb3rs.fr So you sell your good name domain. This is confirmed when you say in the announcement that the accommodation is paid and the Quil will repay at the end of the year.
You do not just sell a backup of your site (could well fool who would buy a backup), to do what? lol

I do not know today whom you are lynching the subject from some of your commentators. Why not accept that a blogger stops because it does more motivation, whatever the reasons. After the sale, why not? Even if it's a little strange and unnecessary, I would not necessarily drive the person buying the content of your blog, it can kill the blog once and for all rather than let him die and leave a final mark in the blogosphere where you had an important place. I just wanted you to convey my sympathy here against your critics.

  • If redirection is not permanent, the traffic that you sell is only temporary, since the results of researches did more with the new owner as soon as you get up the redirect. And then exit the pretty referencing and benefits of inbound links to the archive.

RSS readers are also temporary, if you're not fussy about who resume the shop. What use to read your blog picked up by someone who writes bad?

In sum, it is indeed paying for the wind. And not even a hurricane which lasted three weeks, just a draft.

And then, if it is such a good deal guaranteed monthly income question, why do not you guard this blog?

  • Hi all,

This is not so stupid, he sells the PageRank popularity of its 650 flights, a permanent redirect (the 301) of its 650 tickets to the 650 tickets that other blog.

Redirects must hold at least a few weeks there have to be taken into account by Google with new URLs.

It is not wind but a large majority of inbound links to (partially) the pages of well placed, are to the home page.

So if Roman removes the permanent redirect to the homepage (because he can always leave those to the 650 tickets), tickets will lose redirected mechanically in position.

So not a scam (because you also write these notes), but interest in the referencing is limited or nonexistent if it does not leave at least the 650 redirects to the articles.

I find this initiative very cool, even green, and limits a little too sour for the person who committed the stupidity of placing the highest bid on a site that interests a microcosm agencies pubs parigo - Paris, and visitors, influenced by fireworks at low altitude.
But it's funny, I think everyone will laugh soon, and that the owner, ultimately, will be shooting in the foot.
but it is indeed a part of the blogosphere "Marketing / son to daddy" today, to be idolized by many first year in school comms and marketing, while ultimately the vein that it really interested, it really ^ ^ blank, and it is not 1500 euros per month with this kind of stats, this is the beginning, the wheel caps, but other webmasters to testify without constantly raise the site power , at the buzz, or richness of content, the bellows falls quickly.

Nevertheless soitn it was a time when I could fall on one of your tickets and I gently persuaded by certain arguments. ... Now, as others have said, I see a kid capricious and that do not really know where he is going, and the multitude of interesting rss feed French blogs, this one just to get even, I repeat, a grenade into the eyelash (I repeat not in fact but I reactualizes what I meant).

    Rest in peace.

  • Not being an influential blogger, surely I can not understand the reasons motivating you to sell your editorial content that will probably not included since in any case, the gain will be that traffic.

I understand that domain names on specific topics are for sale, as the era of rapid development of information content related to the iphone (iphone-apple.fr was sold in June 2007 on ebay). Here I do not think I am right in thinking that you just want to make money. Unless the money goes after we will talk to you for your initiative?

Well what follows may seem hypocritical, but I think the fact of analog and digital recording and made a name for having chained to various larger projects and more professionals are amply sufficient as a consolation prize. The money, it will come later when it passed editorial thee helped find a job more correct if you had not blogged. So I think it's just too selfish and too focused on money the whole story ...

  • In any case all this proves that France is very late, culturally speaking, compared to other countries, U.S. head for everything that refers to "web business".

After the outcry against the publication in drafting sections, we see here that the sale of a blog is still something very badly perceived by the community of bloggers. The reactions have still been very violent, from the simple to the bitterness thinly veiled threat.

It also reminds me when Loic Lemeur had announced he was trying his luck in California. He has been criticized by all visitors, and ultimately it is doing not too badly.

France has a real problem with money and therefore it with those who are or have anything to worry about. The mentality is a bit of style does not come out of the mold. Difficult to imagine how one could hope to one day compete with emerging countries and even still the United States when one puts barriers in our own ambitions.

  • Matthew at the same time, will make several hundred dollars per month in sponsored posts, get invited X nights per month by boxes of buzz, and after shouting "I am a broke student!", There's a real problem there.

I strongly doubt that Mr. Roman Libeau was in need these past few months, or even that he's saving to afford a good meal and not the UK (the real students mown must know ...).

Far be it from me to the sordid, but it's pretty ridiculous jet and to see him complain about being broke in this situation.

  • Interesting comment, Matthew. Indeed, France has a problem with money. Indeed, it already suffers from a heavy behind the United States regarding the business web. But the history of Roman had nothing to do with it.

It has long complained that the Roman influence. He drew the blinds, which can be fully understood since some tickets that I have read about him going too far.

But the problem of Roman, is that it is a little time he does anything. I particularly remember the blow he had done to his readers when he convinces everyone that his blog had been hacked. And all this to demonstrate that it was easy to buzzer.

Here again, it hits the headlines by selling his blog. To make ends months of a student broke, he said. I can understand that the blogosphere fatigue, I can understand his desire to stay there but once again, it goes much too far.

I may be wrong but that's my opinion ... And I often agree with myself.

  • Hi,

I just read your blog that was for sale, so I'm jumping here and I look a little ... and I admit being a little surprised to see that your blog is not for sale.

For although the content of your blog does not lack interest, if you sold only its content (without domain name), we can not talk about selling domain ... Your blog is referenced on google, 979 pages indexed has 639 backlinks, has a pagerank ... who redeemed your content will do what? he will buy a new domain name, with 0 length, 0 indexing, everything is done and your content pages will be helpful to him what?

    you suggest a redirection?
it will do nothing or very little, or has the effect to the new domain name in google sandbox (for those who know something about the problem of referencing).

Ultimately, I hope you find a buyer, but should not the content of your sale to be misunderstood by the buyer, he buys or the domain name nor the traffic (which is by definition related to the field) he just buy editorial content. After everyone is his idea on the value of this type of content your blog will travel.
