Are you sure know the Biofuels?

I could not have chosen better time to talk to you about biofuels ... The motor show taking place right now Porte de Versailles, the problems of fuel and environmental non-polluting cars are more than valid. We spoke of new daily non-polluting fuels, but are you sure you really understand what this is?
To be honest I do not know much until the writing of this ticket. I write this ticket may be a bit early because I go to Auto Show in the evening. Anyway, I noticed that there are two schools:
- Those who want to change consumption habits by creating hybrid vehicles (running on compressed air for example)
- Those who rely on the existing situation to improve without disrupting provided (by improving fuel)
The 2nd solution seems much more realistic for the future, I do not see consumers give up their nice car for a pot of yoghurt compressed air must be recharged every 200km ...
What is a biofuel? (Wikipedia)
A biofuels (or agrofuels) is a fuel produced from organic materials and non-renewable fossil fuels. This production can be made from a variety of techniques: oil production, alcohol by fermentation of sugar or starch hydrolysis, gaseous fuels made from biomass plant or animal (hydrogen or methane) or solid fuels like charcoal.
Take for example the Diester, biodiesel French. This is to add the eight vegetable mixture of diesel fuel to achieve the objectives of European fight against global warming.
Why Diester is environmentally friendly:
- The production of Diester does not deforestation: the Diester is made from rapeseed and sunflower (it grows like weeds so no worries for the Environment)
- The production of Diester does not increase the price of cereals: normal is not made from cereals (but from oilseeds such as rapeseed and sunflower)
- With Diester, the surfaces food and energy are not in competition on an oleaginous current production of 2.1 million hectares, 500,000 are sufficient to meet the needs of the French edible oils.
- Produce Diester is also producing the food for each liter of Diester ® developed simultaneously produces 1.5 kg of vegetable protein (see video)
A video to understand what Diester

Hi Romain,
For my part, I find that biofuels are a total heresy. With population pressures on the rise, and rising energy prices which automatically determines an increase in prices of agro-food, use of agricultural resources can feed people in South shortage for the comfort of country rich seems to be meaningless and risky. The balance between production and needs is sufficiently fragile (can be seen every natural disaster) for the soil (beets, canola, sunflower, sugar, erzats, ...) are not used for purposes other than foodstuffs. Especially that solutions exist: innovate and invest in renewable energy (wind, biomass, solar, ...) or nuclear (physical solutions such as nuclear fission - which largely solve the problem of waste) -- to achieve a healthy balance and reduce tensions on energy markets (linked to the anticipation of shortages of fossil resources and rising demand) and the agricultural market (linked to speculation caused by biofuels by me) .
In short, this is my opinion.

Ok this article only concerns French production but do not forget the world that compels destrcution the forest to be replaced by "forest" of palm oil that encroach on land that could be exploited for the Food ...
Furthermore agriculture is practiced for this type of product is intensive, so it pollutes soils and impoverishes! Their solution is: it pollutes less air (but it continues to destroy the soil!)
You really have to wake up and stop with solutions miracles! It will we change our behavior if we want to save this land. But good will is already dead when the planet will die so ...

I do not know much into biofuel, but actually, they seem to be responsible for deforestation in poor countries, which prefer to destroy their forests to replace them with fields ... The debate in any case ...
